Your Yard
Pick up around the yard. Any loose items can be picked up by the strong windows affiliated with tropical storms. Trim trees and shrubs to remove loose or dead limbs to prevent them from causing damage to your home.
You should also make sure there’s nothing blocking your storm drains to helpprevent water from building up and causing flooding.
Your Exterior
Clean out downspouts and gutters and remove or repair any that are not secured. These tasks can be done by our team of professionals.
Board up windows and doors, including your garage door.
Your Interior
There are some safety precautions you can take inside your home as well. Many recommend that you adjust your refrigerator temperature to the coldest settings. This way if power is temporarily lost you may save some food from spoiling.
If there is a flooding concern, and you must evacuate your home, unplug everything. Entering a room flooded with electrically charged water can be fatal.
Turn off your home’s main water valve to help prevent flooding from broken pipes. Cut the electricity at your circuit breaker, and turn off the gas at each appliance.
